Hi there, I’m Warren Johnston. Qualified Personal Trainer, Pilates Instructor & Life Coach.

Since becoming a personal trainer in 2012, I’ve realised my passion to be about helping others progress their personal development journeys. As a former South African national gymnast, I’ve learnt that mental preparation, motivation and discipline create the life you want. And that to get all of those things right, you'll need to enjoy yourself along the way.

You’re riding the underground. As it rattles on, everyone jiggles around from time to time, losing their balance a bit. But not you. You stand like a pro because your core muscles have been made into steel by Pilates.

But seriously, the core is key. The stronger they are, the better your posture becomes; the lower your chances of injury become and the more stability you have in day-to-day movements.

Pilates works deeply, using your own body weight. That, combined with a focus on breath and concentration, cultivates a vital foundation from the inside-out.

I was not physically active since early high school and had not done a stitch of exercise before meeting Warren. Going to the gym just didn’t work for me and so I decided to try out a personal trainer instead. I was amazed at my progress and the ability to at least try exercises and activities that I had never attempted before! Warren is excellent at always surprising you with what’s planned out for a session and trust me it will stretch your abilities and boundaries and push you to achieve more! Sessions never got boring and an hour would just fly by! I never ran at all and after a year of training, I managed to do my first 10km road race with ease and 100m sprints on numerous occasions.​

I am a 65-year-old client who worked with Warren on my joint mobility problem. I have osteoarthritis in my one shoulder, due to an injury 20 years ago. I had been to various physios for this, it just seemed to get worse. He very carefully assessed my shoulder and gave me a plan of how we could work to improve it. I was really impressed with his attention to detail in the rehab of my shoulder, he emphasized small movements that built strength without hurting me. He also did some fun things with me. I felt supported and motivated with him. We had some interesting chats about nutrition, stress and sleep to name a few topics. A real gem of a human being.​

I have had a complete body and mind overhaul, as well as a better understanding of nutrition whilst training with Warren. Most importantly he listens to your needs and targets and tailor-makes a programme for you; this is reviewed approximately every three months. He has a whole repertoire of exercises sourced from different forms of exercise. For example, yoga, pilates, stretching, martial arts, dance, and circus skills! Not only are you focused on the physical aspect during the session but you also gain an understanding of the benefits to the various parts of your body and how that will impact your daily life. Warren has a ‘glass half full’ attitude to life which encourages and challenges you to reflect on your values. Despite the apprehension of working with a personal trainer at the start Warren has kept me motivated to work at my best and he has become part of my life routine.
